2022 – Media report

Dear Clients and Friends,

We want to take this time to thank all the participants and sponsors who joined us for the memorable ninth edition of the Hanse Cup Adriatic in Croatia, held from May 14 to May 18, 2022!

Organized by the official dealer of Hanse Yachts, Croatia Yachting and Sailing Club Zenta, Hanse Cup Adriatic is held to promote Hanse sailboats known for their fast-cruising and easy sailing, allowing for the ultimate sailing experience. But that’s not all – Hanse Cup Adriatic is held to promote the unparalleled beauties of Central Dalmatia as one of Europe’s best sailing destinations.

We are thrilled to share our Adriatic gems with all participants in each new edition.

Hanse Cup Adriatic welcomed all Hanse Yachts owners and fans who could explore Hanse sailboats within the Croatia Yachting fleet. This regatta was made possible by our Gold sponsors UNIQA osiguranje, OTP leasing, and ACI Club, and our Prize sponsors, which provided the best local beer and wine as a treat for all winners.

Hanse Cup Adriatic kicked off at Marina Kaštela this year with sixteen crews from 10 countries and more than 100 participants. Teams sailed for three days in unbeatable weather conditions with plenty of sun, ideal May temperatures, and just the right wind. Competitors showcased their sailing skills during the three legs of the regatta, while culinary specialties and standout DJ and band entertainment highlighted the evenings. The best restaurants in the Central Dalmatia were also in the spotlight, including Pojoda in Vis, Park in Hvar, and Calebotta in Trogir. Participants enjoyed tasty local meals in a relaxed atmosphere, while an awards ceremony crowned the final evening.

The first leg of the regatta sailed from Kaštela to Vis Island, the second from Vis to Palmižana, one of the Pakleni Islands near Hvar Island, and the third from Palmižana to Trogir. A nearly complete range of Hanse Yachts, from Hanse 388 to Hanse 588, featured in this regatta, divided into three divisions. We even organized a “Barba dinghy race” in which crews rowed to a case of beer, with the Skyline crew receiving a case of cold local craft beer for their victory!

A handicap was taken into account to determine the overall winners. The Swiss crew of the Hanse 588 – Mischief, with Didier Lutz as the skipper, once again took first place overall. Simply the Best sailing team was second with the Hanse 548, while Luc Feremans’ crew from Belgium took third place with the Hanse 508 – Golden Box. Finally, “The Heaviest Anchor Award” went to the Hanse 388 crew – Take a Break!

On our Hanse Cup Adriatic Facebook page, you can click through a photo gallery of the three regatta days, so don’t forget to tag yourself and your crew! Feel free to share our album on your social media with the hashtag #hca22 – and if you would like to share your photos with us?

We will gladly post them on our Facebook page! You can find the entire Hanse Cup Adriatic 2022 gallery Here.

Three days of sailing and fun were had by all this year, and we are so glad that the 10th Hanse Cup Adriatic next year will welcome even more familiar faces.

Thanks to all who joined us this year, and stay tuned for the Hanse Cup Adriatic 2023!
