2021 – Media report

Dear clients and friends,

First of all, we would like to thank all the participants and sponsors in this special Kornati edition of the Hanse Cup Adriatic in Croatia from October 09th to October 13th 2021!

This regatta is organized by Croatia Yachting, the official dealer of Hanse Yachts and Sailing Club Zenta, with the aim of promoting Hanse sailboats which are known for their fast-cruising concept and easy handling which makes a perfect yacht for sailing experience. Also, one of the most important aim is to promote Croatia as one of the top European sailing destination.

The regatta is open for all Hanse Yachts owners and fans for whom the Hanse sailboats from the Croatia Yachting fleet are available. We are proud to say once again we had golden sponsors which made an organization as easy as it gets: UNIQA osiguranje, OTP leasing and ACI Club. Along with our golden sponsors, our prize sponsors helped with providing their top local beverages (beer and wine) as one of the prizes for all winners.

On our Hanse cup Adriatic facebook page you can see a photo gallery divided in three days so you would be able to check it out and tag yourself and your crew. Also, feel free to share it on your social media with tag #hca21. And if you would like to share your own photos with us, we will gladly share them on our Facebook page! For those of you who did not take a part of this “three days of sailing and fun”, here is brief summary.

This time we took Hanse cup Adriatic a little bit up north in the one of the most iconic parts of Adriatic Sea- Kornati islands. We were sailing for three days, and the weather was suitable for true sea adventure. All our participants had a chance to experience one of the most mentioned winds in Croatia- famous Bura. In the evenings, atmosphere was quite differen, yet still exciting. After an entire day of sailing, evenings were reserved for socializing. We went to the some of the favorite restaurants in Kornati region such as Fešta and Smokvica, in which our guests enjoyed in delicious meals and friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Like always, this year the regatta had three legs. The first one was from Biograd na Moru to island Žut (Kornati islands), the second one from Žut to Smokvica island which is also part of Kornati and the third one was from Smokvica to the famous UNESCO city- Šibenik. An almost complete range of Hanse Yachts, from Hanse 418 to Hanse 588 participated in this regatta, divided in two divisions. A handicap was taken into account to determine the overall winners. The Swiss crew of the Hanse 588 – Superstar, with Didier Lutz as the skipper took first place overall. The UNIQA sailing team was second with the Hanse 458 – Apollo, while Erwin Kaltenegger crew from Austria took third place with Hanse 508 – Supernatural. The next prize was proof that it not about the winning- it’s about the participation: “The heaviest anchor award” went to the crew of the Hanse 418 – Calliope.

Despite pandemic circumstances, we have certainly achieved our goal of three days of sailing and fun and we are glad to hear that many are coming back next year for the ninth Hanse cup Adriatic.
