Hanse Yachts Take Over — Another Successful Hanse Cup Adriatic
When Hanse sails were hoisted over the stunning Adriatic in May, it signaled the start of another exciting charter season. The 12th Hanse Cup Adriatic, held from May 3 to 7, brought together top crews and Hanse yacht owners for several days of exceptional sailing. The idea behind the event is to unite Hanse enthusiasts, showcase the latest Hanse models in their natural environment, and combine the thrill of competition with the finest Dalmatian cuisine, premium wines, and relaxed evening gatherings.
Regatta participants were grouped according to the yacht’s length overall (LOA) and competed under the NHP handicap system, ensuring fair competition among a diverse range of Hanse yachts. The sea was calm, rain fell, and the wind blew—everything that makes sailing real—but none of it dampened the fun. Guests enjoyed excellent food, great company, and plenty of moments to unwind.
Sukošan Warm-Up
Saturday in Sukošan set the tone for a smooth start. Guests checked in effortlessly, and registration went flawlessly. The regatta was officially opened with a program presentation in front of the Croatia Yachting reception at Marina Dalmacija. Later, skippers received sailing instructions and gathered for the official briefing.
The evening was enriched with Dalmatian flavors, fine wines, and cocktails, creating the perfect atmosphere for socializing. The relaxed vibe was just right for easing into the exciting days ahead.
Regatta – Day One
On Sunday at 11:00, the fleet set sail on a 16 NM route from Biograd to Ravni Žakan. The course passed by Vrgada and Murvenjak—enough islands to keep the views sharp and the sailing engaging. The weather was sunny and bright, with laughter all around. Some guests soaked up the sun on deck, while the wind provided ideal conditions for pleasant sailing.
In the afternoon, the boats docked and drinks were served on the pier. Konoba Žakan, a favorite among sailors, took care of the rest. Known for its outstanding hospitality and excellent cuisine, this gem in the heart of Kornati National Park treated us to fresh, delicious dishes that perfectly rounded off a day on the water.
Regatta – Day Two
On Monday, after the skippers’ meeting at 09:30, the fleet was ready to depart. The 16 NM sail from Ravni Žakan to Murter brought just enough wind—perfect for thrilling sailing, full sails, and boats dancing over the waves. Murter welcomed us with its charm and beautiful scenery, making the stop even more special.
The afternoon was spent in Marina Hramina, followed by dinner at Restaurant Nomad, where the atmosphere truly came alive. Later, the night continued with karaoke, a DJ, and dancing until late.
Regatta – Day Three
On Tuesday at 11:30, we set off on a 16 NM leg southeast from Murter to Šibenik. The weather was a bit challenging, but it didn’t affect our spirits. We laughed, had fun, and even spotted dolphins along the way!
Upon arrival in Šibenik—a beautiful UNESCO World Heritage city—we gathered for a group photo in Hanse Cup T-shirts in front of the cathedral to capture the moment. The evening continued at the City Hall, with dinner, entertainment, and a lively performance by Sandra & the Band.
The night concluded with the announcement of the regatta winners and the awards and trophy ceremony.
